Firefox - Set Home Page for New Tabs

Can you tell me how to setup FireFox so taht when I type "Ctrl-T" for a new tab, the new tab opens to www.google.com?

You can open new tab to homepage with this extension
https://addons.mozilla.org/firefox/777/

This is meant to be a lightweight alternative to using Tab Mix, Tabbrowser Preferences or Tabbrowser Extensions for this single feature.

If you're using one of those, you do not need this extension and it most likely will not work even if you install it! In this case, you should use the in-built options in whichever tabbed browsing extension that you use.
