Goldmine over BDE - mailbox too large - how to pare down?

Got a client running Goldmine on the included BDE database engine.  Their mailbox database memo file is nearly 2GB and needs to be pared down.  What tool can I use to get into that database (including the monster memo file) and archive off about half of the records?

I tried using FoxPro, MS Access with an ODBC connector - nothing seems to work.  Any tips?

Thanks in advance!

There should be some *.?DX files in the data directory.  What extension are these files?  If MDX then try Dbase4.

moorhouselondon,

I try that through Access and even though a massive .fpt files is there, it give me "Cannot locate the requested Xbase memo file."

any other thoughts?

.fpt is a FoxPro file.

You need to investigate recovery tools.  The only issue you may have is if Goldmine have changed the Memo Header structure so that standard tools such as these will fail (it's not that the wouldn't want you to recover your data, but by recovering data in an unauthorized way may screw up something fundamental in GoldMine - for instance, endangering Referential Integrity).
