Exchange 2003 Database maintenance Running out-with scheduled times
Our exchange server is running very slow, I have noticed the following entry in the application logs
0 of 1 folder(s) were deleted during a background cleanup on database "VIP Storage Group\VIP 1 Mailbox Store".
This would suggest to me that the 'database maintenance' is still running. I have checked the schedule and it should only run from 2200 to 0400. Information on why this is still running or how to stop it would be a big help!!

What is using the resources, and exactly what resources are used?
Exchange uses what it needs and should give it back. Therefore a high memory use is normal.
