Something better than Hyperterminal?

Is there a freeware application that is better than hyperterminal for configuring switches and routers. I hate how hyperterminal always messes up the text and I can't copy and paste it.

Thanks for any suggestions (besides telnet)

I like to use SecureCRT from Vandyke Technologies.

It supports all types of emulation, so you can find the one that won't cause you problems.

Free Tool: Subnet Calculator

The subnet calculator helps you design networks by taking an IP address and network mask and returning information such as network, broadcast address, and host range.

Putty is very fine. Also great is ProComm Plus, but expensive: http://www.symantec.com/procomm/
The old DOS version of Procomm is also quite functional - so far as I can tell, the version floating around the net is freely available. http://viaoz.com/software.html has it for download (search for Procomm).
