DTS edit package question

I've inherited a DTS local package.  The final step is a Send Mail Task which I want to edit - need to put different email addresses in.  On changing an email I get 'No Profile Name provided' and there are no profile names to choose from in the drop-down.  How do the current email addresses work without a selected profile?  How do I enable the changes I need to make?
