Distribution list automatic reply

I would like anyone that emails a distribution list to get an automatic response.  example:

Thank you for emailing us, we will be in touch shortly.

When you create a distribution list, you have the option to automatically create a public folder archive.  You can then set up a rule on the public folder to respond in that manner if you like.  

From Outlook right click on the public folder and select Properties > Administration.  Then click the Folder Assistant... button and add a rule.
