Hi all,
I'm working with vb.net and created crystal report, using ole db provider. Data source for this report is stored procedure built in sql server 2005. Executing report takes about 30 sec, but stored procedure executes in one sec in Database Engine Query (result of procedure is set of 1600 records). When i switch report datasorce to ODBC, report executes in 3 seconds. It doesn't seem to me normall, but that is fact.

If someone know what is problem, please help me. I prefere ole db and would use it, it's newer than odbc.

Are you pulling from datasource directly to report

or

Are you pushing dataset to report.

Second methos may be fast.

I'm doing this by pushing dataset to report:

Dim cr1 As New CrystalReport1
cr1.SetDataSource(sqlds.Tables("kls_art"))
crviewer.ReportSource = cr1

It seems to me that app is trying to find db server and it takes about thirty seconds. Db server is on the same machine as app is.
I'm using Microsoft OLE DB Provider for SQL Server, it should be the faster way.
