I've been getting 'the blue screen' recently for no apparent reason. 90% of the errors are whilst surfing the internet (mostly playing on Pogo), and again, most errors say IRQL Not Less or Equal. Various files are referred to in the stop message, and nearly all are nVidia driver files.
Dell XPS 600
nVidia 6800 Graphics
nVidia nForce 4
McAfee Security Centre with all features enabled
I've tried updating the graphics drivers and supporting software to latest versions. I've also tried rolling back nForce 4 drivers to 184.108.40.206 from 220.127.116.11, but without sucess. I've even turned DEP off in the system BIOS on the advice of another solutions site.
Can anyone help me with this? I can't trace this problem back to a particular install of software, and the XPS box has never even been opened.
I've got huge amount of free HD space, and the core temperatures of my CPU and nVidia 6800 seem fine.
I'd rather exhaust all possible software solutions before trying things like "remove the RAM chips one by one" etc. !!
