How to determine selected cells in a VSFlexGrid grid

Hello everyone:

I would like to know the way to determine selected cells in a VSFlexGrid grid. Since once I select a in a grid a cell(s) it changes it background color I tried to resolve this problem by reading the background color but this have not worked that great for me.
