Windows 2003 Web server, static ip address for the domain, www host A record in DNS. Site open fine as mydomain.com but gives a "This error (HTTP 400 Bad Request) means that Internet Explorer was able to connect to the web server, but the webpage could not be found because of a problem with the address". error when using www.mydomain.com or the ip address. Any suggestions?

Check to see if you have a host header configured for that website.  If you have mydomain.com as your host header, the site won't work with www.mydomain.com even if you have a proper DNS record.
