How to run a mpeg at linux server

I hosted my website at  hosting company with linux server, but I upload a mpeg or mp3, it cannot play

What I need to do to make the mpeg and mp3 to play???

Do I need any coding???

it need downlaod when my client want to play my movie, I want to play at our client'w window media player

You need a streaming server software. Check this out:

or google for linux multimedia streaming server

I believe mplayer mentioned by ibu should also be capable of acting as a server, you'll need to check the doc's on the site.
