Hide html layer from flash .swf

I have an html web page, designed in Dreamweaver 8 on a Windows XP computer. The html page has a link to show a layer ("flashLayer1") and load a flash preloader ("../flash/ministries/pastorSermons/20061105/20061105mrp3.swf). The preloader in turn initiates a flash .swf ("../flash/ministries/pastorSermons/20061105/20061105mr3.swf) that contains audio. The flash modules were developed with Flash Professional 8.

Is it possible for the second .swf ("../flash/ministries/pastorSermons/20061105/20061105mrp3.swf") to hide the html layer when a button is clicked? I have found other questions similar to this but have either not been able to make the accepted solution work or didn't understand the solution.

Your help would be much appreciated.

It can be done calling a javascript from Flash.

Here is a tutorial:

That was much too easy!  I already had a javascript function in my html that hid the layers so all I had to do was use the getURL in flash to execute it :-)  All the other explanations I found seemed very involved or didn't work... so a big thanks to you!
