I've lost the machine that was the host for my Exchange Server 2003 organization. After that, all I have are the public and private edb and stm files in a Clean Shutdown state.

On a new server running Windows 2003 SP1 with a fresh installation of Exchange Server 2003 for the same Organization name I get the following erros after tried to mount the database recovered inside a Recovery Storage Group:

Message:

An internal processing error has occurred. Try restarting the Exchange System Manager or Microsoft Information Store service, or both.

ID no:  c1041724
Exchange System Manager

Event ID: 9519
Source: MSExchangeIS

Error 0xfffffae7 starting database "First Storage Group\Temporary" on the Microsoft Exchange Information Store.

Note, that unfortunately I have lost the System State backup, so the users and objects in AD have different UID and SIDs.

Someone can help me?

Thanks in advance.

Hi geraintcollins,

Do you have enough free space on that drive?

Do you have the STM files?

One solution, if you are in a hurry, is to use something like Ontrack PowerControls to extract the data directly from the EDB files - then create new stores

Hope that helps,
