Hi,

We use SBS 2003 and make use of sharepoint. We have a few laptops and have the home page set to companyweb. When not on the network obviuosly the home page will not load. Is there any way i can add a pointer on the laptop so that when the homepage http://companyweb is accessed it point the laptop to http://server.domain.com:444? This is more of a annoying issue rather than a problem.

Thanks in advance

You can actually just set their homepage to https://server.domain.com:444 and it will work in either place.  Upgrade them to IE7 and you can have two homepages set as well.

Well, there is but it would mean that the username and password is sent via plain text which is a HUGE security risk.  But since you asked, you could use the link https://username:password@server.domain.com:444

However... the BEST method would be to have those laptops connect via VPN (Small Business Server Connection Manager) FIRST, and then you don't need any of the above.
