Change root password problems

If I change the root password on a Linux box and reboot it, will there be any problems starting services?  One of our servers didn't seem to come back up this morning I'm wondering if the password change has anything to do with this.....

no. this is not the reason ..

the password not influence in the system.... anyway if you have scripts with the passwd root this is a problem.... :(  but the system dont have any service with refer to passwd.

check the /var/log/messages for other info..  paste in here the error

Hey thanks for your  help, we were able to bring it back up, it was just stuck at the bios screen for some reason.
