I did a search and found this same info (I was searching for error 23 not blinking 23 - hp should address this!)<br />

I did talk to a HP rep and was told that this error means that my java (!!) is not installed correctly and there is nothing wrong with the scanner - also suggested that I reinstall windows and that could take care of the problem. &nbsp;They needed a credit card and $50.00 to answer this question (it is out of warranty). &nbsp;What a crock!<br />

On a further note, I do have the case number, I am considering emailing HP just to let them know how the problem was handled. &nbsp;I know I would like to be told if I was HP and one of my techs was handing out this type of incorrect advice.
