Need RealTek PHY RTL8201CL Driver for RedHat v7.x

Hi,

I have a K8NF4G-SATA2 with a RealTek PHY RTL8201CL Network Card. Also on this machine I have two(2) 3C905CX-TM network cards which were successfully detected by the install. I tried to use the 8139too driver but the load was unsuccessful with the following error messages

/lib/modules/2.4.20-28.7/kernel/drivers/net/8139too.o: unresolved symbol mii_link_ok_R563eadc6
/lib/modules/2.4.20-28.7/kernel/drivers/net/8139too.o: unresolved symbol mii_nway_restart_R4ace7784
/lib/modules/2.4.20-28.7/kernel/drivers/net/8139too.o: unresolved symbol generic_mii_ioctl_R706534a9
/lib/modules/2.4.20-28.7/kernel/drivers/net/8139too.o: unresolved symbol mii_ethtool_sset_R61d90d0e
/lib/modules/2.4.20-28.7/kernel/drivers/net/8139too.o: unresolved symbol mii_ethtool_gset_R23b5f59e

Any suggestions

you need to go to the folder of source kernel /usr/src/linux-2.4.20.28-7 maybe
make menuconfig and check the option with realtek
make all
make modules
make modules_install
make install

and you have a install.txt in the same directory read it please compiling a kernel is not a joke.... you nned to read and know what are you doing
here you have a tutorial

http://www.freeos.com/articles/2589/

and redhat 7 is very very old !!!! please upgrade in redhat 8 the Realtek driver is compiled yet.

This is a customised version of Linux and as such there exists no src/ directory. We are running Egress Server 4.6

Is there a link to this particular driver

yes the driver is 8139too  and you need to compile this... but i dont think this driver can be compiled in kernel 2.4 like redhat 7.X

you can choose 2 thinks.

1. upgrade the system. but in your case, this option is complex because is a part of a system. (are you sure is the last version of viator??)

2. buy 2 generic cards i recommend old card type realtek 8139. or ne2000 to do this.

you can download a sorce of this kernel and setting some things for example you doewnload the src of this kernel to /usr/src folder and copy the file configxxxxx from /boot folder to your folder /usr/src/linux.2.4xxxx do oldconfig and follow the steps, in internet download any tutorial to how to compile a redhat 7x kernel
