Mirroring IMail to a backup server

Hello!  We have a mail server (Windows 2003 Server OS) that is running Imail 2006.  We are looking for advice on how to mirror Imail user accounts and their corresponding folders to a backup server.  At this point, we have no way of backing up the 26 gig Imail folder without possible encountering corrupt files because files being in use during the backup.

Any advice on how to properly mirror Imail to a backup server would be greatly appreciated!

We used IMail for a long time, and this was always a problem.  Of course, we ran RAID 1 disks as a first line of defense, but backup was also desirable.  The best could come up with was a script to shut down the queue manager, SMTPD, IMAP, POP and WebMail, then use XCOPY with the /M switch to copy user folders off to another folder that could then be backed up to tape.  And don't forget to backup the IMAil registry, which has all the user names, passwords, settings, etc.

FWIW, we switched to Kerio 2 years ago; it has backup integrated in the server.  We simply backup the data to an external USB drive and swap it out every couple days.
