Tunnel Terminology

I have to write a proposal for setting up a 24x7 Cisco-to-Cisco tunnel with a client. What is the official term for that kind tunnel, so I can at least sound like I know what I'm talking about? Thanks.

Hi MBoogie_25,

LAN-to-LAN.

You might also want to look up these terms.

IPSEC, IKE, ISAKMP , DES, 3DES, AES, DH GROUP, PPTP.

Good Luck,

Chris

MBoogie_25,

No probs. Thanks for the points. I would suggest you read up on those other terms to avoid yourself becoming red faced in case someone else in the room 'knows a little'. For an overview of VPN technology have a look at http://www.informit.com/articles/article.asp?p=25470&rl=1
