The NAME attribute is used to define information which is to be referenced outside of the document. This includes data passed to search engines and directories, spiders and other entities.

It means nothing to HTML, it is up to whoever reads it to interpret in its own way,
It may be something to Microsoft Visual Studio

right.  I once used VS or Word to generate the HTML and never deleted that.
