power supply for server board connections
I have a asus dsbv-d server board it has the ability for dual processors
cpu1 cpu1
I am only using cpu1
My power supply is 24 pin and two 4pin connectors
my motherboard has a 24 pin 1 four pin and then a eight pin
If I using one processor then to i used 24 and 4 pin or can i use 24 pin and 8pin
need to know asap

You'll need all 3 conne3ctions (24, 8 and 4 pin). You'll need a power supply like this one http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16817703005
This is correct on needing all 3 plug connections for your other board to work in this machine. Something like this power supply would work as well.

This what I found out my Leadertech:
My questions was if I was only using one cpu would I have to have a 24 4 8 pin
power supply.
since I was only using one cpu I can use a 24 4 4 the last 4 go to the one rail
of the 8pin since the 8 pin is 4x4.
If you use two cpus then you need the 24 4 8.
I cant except your answers in full since I had to find out the answers elsewhere
if you can dispute my comments I will award points.
