XP Application Priority

I see a lot of posts on this topic--an no one seems to read the question.  I want to permanently change the priority of certain applications.  Creating a batch file won't work, as right clicking and for something to unRar doesn't call the batch.

I want WinRAR to always run low priority.  I want a download robot to always run low.  I want my DVD player to always run higher.  People say "make a batch" and that only works when you manually use the start menu or cmd box.  Not when you have it set to autostart when a DVD is programmed.  Is there a way to tell winrar.exe to always start low priority regardless of what starts the program (a click on an associated file, a right click context menu, etc.)
