Exchange 5.5........

My Question....

I have started the exmerge process on about 10 mailboxes.  6 have gone through fine and now on the 7th, but I just  realized that the 7th is over the 2gb limit.  It is sure to fail on that mailbox.

My question is what happens to the other 3 remaining mailboxes?  Does it continue on with those....Or does the whole process bomb out and therefore making me reinitiate the process on the 3 remaining mailboxes?  Or is there another scenario that I might be missing?

The last time I experienced such a scenario Exmerge did continue on to the additional mailboxes but did report an error (warning) on the oversized mailbox.  The PST was usuable, but I believe there was a problem with earlier version of Exmerge which generated a corrupt PST.  Obviously everything past the 2Gb limit will not be exported.

If you need all the data from the oversized mailbox you might want to run Exmerge seperately on it and specify a date range on the messages to export. Use dates which roughly splits the data in two or more sections as needed to prevent the resulting PST from exceeding 2Gb.
