Hi,

I have recently tried to repair the .net framework as it was working incorrectly with a webservice, however when I try to repair the framework, it seems to throw up an error halfway through saying that the Microsoft.JScript.dll is already installed and it then proceeds to rollback.  To try and stop this happening I unistalled the .net framework in hope of it installing correctly. However, its still throwing up the error during install and im confident the file isnt even there ( i checked the directory for it ).

It is important that I get this fixed as soon as possible as it has stopped two important website functioning correctly.

Here is exactly what is said: "Error 25015.Failed to install assembly 'C:WINNT\Microsoft.NET\Framework\v2.0.50727\Microsoft.JScript.dll' because of system errir: Cannot create a file when that file already exists"

Any help would be much appreciated. Thanks,

Phil

Remove .NET 2.0
Restart the machine
Install .NET 2.0 fresh copy from www.asp.net.

I used a cleanup tool that removed ALL related registry entries and files to do with the .net install, then rebooted. This sorted the install problem.
