Why does my outlook appears to be sending a message?

Hi!

Since a couple of days, my outlook appears to be trying to send a message, showing "Sending message 1 of 1", although I am not sending anything.

Also there is no message in the outbox waiting to be sent...

Anyway, it seems to me that outlook always fails in sending this message since the first smpt on the list is one that doesn't work anymore but I've let it there. (Everytime when I send, I select the smtp manually from the "Accounts" dropdown menu.

I have tried to capture all the TCP using Ethereal but haven't noticed anything unusual until now.

By the way, I also have an antivirus which updates daily, sometimes twice a day, and also I never open any attachments except jpg, pdf, or doc and xls (without macros), so I think that a virus is unprobable.

Does anybody knows how can I find out what this "hidded message" that outlook is trying to send is???

Thanks,
M

Hi mircea_a,

You probably have a read reciept that will not send. It is hidden and that's why you don't see anything in your In-box.
Go here for instructions on how to remove it.

Great!

I did receive a message requesting read receipt a few days ago. That seems to be the cause.

Many thanks!
