Canon BJC4200 flashing green light

I have a Canon BJC4200 printer which has been working fine for 2 years.

I now have a problem where the printer will not print. The green power lamp is flashing at all times. There are no beeps. The lamp does not show amber.

If I press the Resume button for longer than 2 seconds......nothing happens.

If I press the cartridge button nothing happens.

Also the cartride print head remains in the center........as if I had pressed the cartridge button to change a cartridge.

Any help much appreciated.

I had installed a non-canon cartridge. It did work for a short period of time and then......blinking green light.

The link which you provided highlighted this. So I guess I will have to buy a canon cartridge.

Many Thanks
