HP Silent fan patch

I have a HP Prolient DL140 server which I recently moved form a data center into my office. This server's fan is running substantially louder than the other servers that I have in the office. I have been told that there is a HP patch that reduces the speed of the fan. This will reduce the noise created by the fan.

I have no idea where to find this patch or what this patch is called. Any ideas where I can find this patch?

Thank you for your time.

Personally I would not want to slow down the fan speeds. You want to ensure proper cooling to the unit. I'm not sure if you have the CD's for that server or not but here is the download for the Proliant DL140 G2 Server. It's the Software Support CD maybe there is somthing that can help you on that.

Do you have the System Management Homepage installed? I think I read you can adjust fan settings in there.

I think you are right. I just need to update BMC and custom configure it. My problem now is that I get to the download page: http://h18023.www1.hp.com/support/files/server/us/locate/69_5771.html , but I'm not sure which packages here I should install in order to update the BMC?
