Outlook loses incoming mail settings every time

I have a user whose outlook loses their incoming mail settings everytime they shut down their computer.  Basically the correct setting is incoming.verizon.net, but it gets changed to 127.0.0.1 and they have to manually go into their account settings and change it back.  Running verizon's mail fix took only fixes it for that session, the next time they restart the program it reverts back to the default 127 address.  The outgoing settings never change.  User has XP pro SP2.

Greetings, richgirlmp !

Sounds like an antivirus or antispam program is overwriting the incoming server to route the email through its program.  Incoming should still work, but a bit slower.

If you do not want the antivirus program overwritting the setting, disable virus check of incoming mail. Do the same if antispam program is doing the overwriting.

Best wishes!

war1- Got a chance to look at the problem yesterday.  It turns out that McAffee Anti-Spam was causing the problem.  You were right- thanks for your help.
