I have the plaguing problem of unread items in my calendar that cannot be gotten rid of after many, many attempts and approaches.  I have found however that if I copy my existing calendar to a new calendar the unread items disappear.  Is there any way to make the new calendar my default calendar and then delelete the original calendar?

Greetings, karinerivet !

Create a new PST file and set it to be your default delivery location.
http://www.outlook-tips.net/howto/profile.htm

Create a new PST and set it to be your default delivery location.  Stop and
restart Outlook.  Move the items you wish to keep from your old PST to the
new one, close the old one, and the next time you stop Outlook, you can
delete the old PST.

Best wishes!

Sorry, I should have specified that I'm not using a PST file; I'm connected to a mailbox stored on an Exchange server.

hi,

Close outlook and delete the *.ost file in the following directory

C:\Documents and Settings\l%username%\Local Settings\Application Data\Microsoft\Outlook

This will remove all cache data from your PC, and will download a new copy next time you connect, this should wipe out your mis-match. I sometimes experience a similar probelm with my deleted items...

There is no mismatch of any kind.

Nevermind.  I opted to export my mailbox to a PST, delete/recreate my mailbox and import the contents of the PST which worked just fine.
