Wasn't sure where to ask this, but since WSUS 3.0 needs server 2k3 i thought this would work.  is anyone familiar with WSUS 3 or any version?  i'm trying to figure out if there is a way to get a wsus 3 server installed on something other than server 2k3.  i am planning on deploying it to multiple locations on the WAN but don't want to have to install a version of server 2k3 on a machine at each if i don't absolutely have to.  any ideas?  i've heard there may be some sort of FTP option but don't know much more about that possibility.

thanks,

MIke

As WSUS 3.0 is still a BETA product, it is almost impossible to answer your question. It isn't unusual for Microsoft to change the requirements once the product is launched - look at Exchange 2007. The bulk of the BETA work for that was done on 32bit OS, but production requires 64 bit.

yah, i know it's still beta, but just wondered if anyone has tried something other than the standard with the beta or even 2.0.
