When deleting files, PC slow to refresh

I'm using a P4 2.8Ghz with 384MB RAM. This week I find that my PC is slow to open applications. When I tried to delete a file which was only 100KB, I pressed the delete key, but the file was still there... waited about 20seconds, it only dissapeared.

I tried to copy and paste files, it looks normal.
