All users constantly getting APC UPS messages
From time to time we are getting the following error message:
"UPS batteries at bmdserver are (no longer) discharged".
Today all users were getting the message about once a minute. Unplugging the serial cable at the back of the UPS "solved" the problem. ;-)
How can I avoid those messages on all screens so that I can plug the serial cable back in?
We are running RedHat Linux 8.0 on a Compaq ProLiant ML370 G2
Many thanks in advance!

No. Maybe other experts?
But I guess You need to edit by hand config file - just don't where to look for it.

just accepted as it's my backup solution :-)
and good to know in any case! can't learn enough!
i'm wondering if i the line
*.emerg *
can be tweaked to only output on the local machine but not on terminal sessions...

No. Well Yes, but then it's useless
*.emerg /var/log/emerg
The last star mean: everybody who is connected

ok, but
*.emerg root,backup
should do, right?
these are the only users that can be logged in directly on the server.
only if nobody is logged in no message would appear i guess...

as i don't want to miss any really important messages i'd prefer to just "modify the UPS monitoring application". this is APC PowerChute plus but has hardly any options in its GUI... any clues?
