Windows Desktop SAearch error 0x0eedfade

I have recently installed Windows Desktop search from the Microsoft download site.  I am running Windows XP SP2.

It seems to search OK but once or twice a day I get an error dialogue box:

WindowsSearchSafeFilter.exe - Application Error

The exception unknown software exeption (0x0eedfade) occurred in the application at location 0x7c812a5b

Can anybody help resolve this?
