Are there any inherent problems with an exchange installation where the outlook users may have different languages?

Our Exchange DB just absorbed 15 new employees all in Germany.   We installed Office 2003 the German version, but when the users initiated contact with the exchange server all their default folders came up in English.  So an enterprising user went  here …

and got a tool which changes the folder names to their German equivalent.  Could this cause problems with mailbox clean up? Or is this just a facade in Outlook?
What kind of other possible problems might this cause?
