I have the same board and it runs fine on WinXP Home sp2. &nbsp;Did you try updating to that service pack? &nbsp;I have subsequently installed a gigabit NIC, but I had no problems with it while I was using the onboard.

That's been the problem. I halts when on MSupdate page. &nbsp;I'm trying to get to SP2, the CD I have is SP1. &nbsp;

Just bought a brand new ASROCK Dual VSTA mobo with onboard ethernet. &nbsp;Installed Win XP SP1 in 15mins. WOW! Problem is, when I run Microsoft update it locks on the webpage. &nbsp;It can search web pages fine. &nbsp;and seems to work in all other aspects, but locked up on Windows update when it tries to download the current installation tool. &nbsp;I have another computer that gets to the site just fine. &nbsp;I suspect the onboard LAN. &nbsp;I've updated the bios and lan drivers. The onboard is a VIA Rhine II ... &nbsp;I'm thinking of ditching the onboard and going to a regular lan card, but wanted to check here first. Thanks.
