Hiding Database Server Login Details in config file
Hi,
I have a C# standalone application which connects to a Sybase DB. Currently the log-in details for the Database server are stored under <appSettings> in my config file. My users are not happy with this, due to security fears. Also they are worried that the application has no log-in function. They fear that someone can come along and start-up the app and change the data in production without permission.
I was wondering:
A) how can I hide / mask, etc the Database Server details from prying eyes
B) Best implement a log-in, or solution to the second problem.
THANKS
