DNS and RPC issues after installing DNS service on Win 2003 server

I just added a 2003 R2 server to a 2000 domain (after doing all of the adprep) and promoted the server to AD. Everything went fine up to that point.

I installed DNS on the server and also made it a Global Catalog server. It replicated all of the DNS information from my other 2000 AD DNS servers (AD integarted DNS) and seemed to be fine. I could also see all of the AD accounts and computers. The new server also showed up in DNS and AD on the 2000 AD servers.

However once I did a restart I am having all kinds of problems. Basically no network connectivity. I can't even see the "Local Area Network" icon in My Network Places.

Server service, Network connection service and a whole bunch of others don't start. I have some errors saying "Windows cannot detemine the user or computer name (There are no more endpoints available from the endpoint mapper) Group Policy processing aborted."

RPC and DNS service show as running (RPC locator is not running) but if I go to DNS on the 2003 server it says "Cannot Contact the DNS Server."

Any ideas, suggestions?

Thank you.
