I have a Win2k Server machine acting as an application server for 16 Win2k Pro machines. All the computers are a part of the same workgroup. Every machine is assigned a specific static IP address and there are no conflicts. Recently the server machine has become flooded with Event errors - Event Id 8005 to be exact:
"The browser has received a server announcement indicating that the computer SRV-205 is a master browser but this computer is not a master browser."
This is the computer that acts as the application server for the other 16. All I really need to be able to do is to map two folders on this machine as Drives on all the others.
Since the error messages began to pop up I have been unable to consistently ping my server's IP address from the other machines.
I've googled this to death, and I haven't been able to solve the problem by stopping the Computer Browser service on all the non-server machines.
No settings have been changed, and this system has worked fine for the last 6 months. Any help will be greatly appreciated.
