Storing PDFs in SQL

smpross asked
Last Modified: 2009-07-29
Hi All,
We are developing a C# application using .net remoting technology.  We are running MS SQL Server 2005 and are using Visual Studio 2003 as our development environmnent.

Currently our client application creates an Invoice using data from the SQL Database into a Crystal Report viewer.  We want to save the Invoice as a PDF using the Crystal Reports object into an image field in SQL 2005.  All of this is done without user intervention.

Here are my Questions:

In a Windows application:

1. How do we take a Crystal Report and convert it to a PDF Document (Without user intervention)?

2. How can we store the PDF in Microsoft SQL as an image format?

In a Windows application AND an ASP application:
1. How do we retrieve the SQL image and display the PDF?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.
