Windows 2003 Server Standard and Windows 2003 Server Enterprise Load Balance
Is there a problem with setting up a server cluster with one NOS being different than the other NOS? We have a load balanced cluster with one server being Windows 2003 Server Standard and one Windows 2003 Server Enterprise. Please let me know if this is "legal" or not. Thanks!!
From what I understand Clustering is only supported in Windows 2003 Enterprise and Data Center Editions and I would assume that you need them both to be Data Center or better. So you could have one data center edition and one enterprise but not standard. http://www.microsoft.com/windowsserver2003/evaluation/features/comparefeatures.mspx

What about if they are just being used for load balancing purposes?
