Can you choose the network connection (wired and wireless) that a program uses (on a laptop) when both are available?

I want to run, for instance, internet browsing and music streaming through the wireless network and a remote desktop session through a wired network.

I have both networks functioning and if I turn off the wired LAN the applications will immediately start to use the wireless service but they choose the wired network by default if it available.

The operating system is Windows XP pro and the ideal solution would be without using proxy server on the wired network.
