Windows 2003 Terminal Services suppresses TWAIN driver
I have a Windows 2003 Enterprise Server which runs terminal services. I also have a Canon muti-functional device imageRUNNER 5020 that I want to use it as network scanner. From this 2003 server I installed the TWAIN driver for the scanner and I could discover it and it showed available for scanning. When I used Acrobat 7 Pro for example to create PDF the driver was not available to select, this issue is happening to Word03, Photoshop CS2 and many other TWAIN compliant applications but Kodak Windows for Imaging. If I uninstalled terminal services then everything works fine. My questions are why Kodak Windows for Imaging work in this scenario and others don't and why does terminal services suppress TWAIN drivers? Keep in mind that I am working on the server locally.
Hae you attempted added the device as well as the drivers thru add remove programs? Terminal services in very particular about that.

I have tried working on this issue for a while and it is conclusive that I cannot use the scanner in the TS environment without a third party software. I used Remote Scan and it works fine. With the help of FileMonitor, I also found out that with Kodak Imaging for Windows, it queries the TWAIN driver in windows\twain_32 folder directly and the result is that it works in TS as oppose to other applications they query the Twain_32.dll in windows folder. Please close this question.
