What are the security permissions?
If this is a WORKGROUP only then Enable the Guest account on the server.

Change the password to something very difficult to guess and write it down then lock it up in the safe.

This should be all you need to do as long as the Everyone Group is on the shares and NTFS permissions of the folders themselves.

Other than that, unless you create a username and password that EXACTLY match each of your local user accounts on the PCs then this is the only other way.

ok can u tell me where to go to put a username password on the server?

when i try to enable remote desktop it says i need a local username and its password.

Go to the Active directory users and computers. There, you can edit the administrator's username and password. I dont see a need for remote desktop.

and in the active directory to share via workgroup, you say to create a guest account?
