I do not have the proper CD with the correct version, The version that was trashed by a virus was dated 8/23/2001 12:00pm

since it is dependent on so many other DLL's it has to be that one.
Interestingly my XP pro CD without any service packs has a date of 8/17/2001 and that one does not work, and XP pro with SP 1 is dated in 2002, I know that will not work.

Anyone have this exact file available?

Or since the computer is only startable in safe mode due to this, would it be possible to install SP 2 from CD in safe mode? I think this would be an answer since it will replace winlogon and all dependent files.

I can't seem to find a definitive answer on that.
