Serialize the Contents of a RichTextBox

Can I serialize the contents of a RichTextBox into a string? For example, the text might have some bullets, some underscores, some color, etc. I want to put that into an XML string that I can store in a database and retrieve later to dump back into an empty RichTextBox.
