Hi, running Exchange 2003 here -- I have a new working from home user trying to access OWA for the first time and when the person logs in he gets the following error:
Microsoft 2000 Premium  - Error 1706 - No valid source could could be found
Can anyone help?  No one else is having the problem

same deal.  I found this at https://www.experts-exchange.com/questions/21651288/Outlook-Web-Access-asking-for-Office-Disk.html?query=OWA+asks+for+disk&clearTAFilter=true

Open Control Panel -> Add or Remove Programs and select Office 2000. Click Change.
In the Office 2000 Maintenance Mode menu, click Add or Remove Features.
Under Office Tools, select HTML Source Editing and choose Not Available from the list of options.
Click Update Now to complete the changes.

Do you think will still work if he's using Office 2003?
this is internet explorer he uses not office-i cant see how this will help.
what version of IE is it?
6.0
is he using the correct address in https in the browser?that error is unusual
yep, I provided the link http://mail.mydomain.com
you havent a laptop you could try out and see the result so you can eliminate the server
I called another remote user, no problems

Hi jimshock,

Simply reinstalling Office 2000 correctly should do the job; here is the full article referenced in the above link.

http://searchexchange.techtarget.com/tip/1,289483,sid43_gci1104280,00.html?bucket=ETA

There is a component of Office 2000 - the HTML Source Editing component - which by default is set to no installed (or install on first use).

You need to install that component.  Send them an Office CD, or if you are going to anyway, upgrade them to Office 2003
