Can't see my computer from the Internet

Dear experts,

I'm having problems seeing my website from outside my network.

I just set up a Debian 3.1 system from a netinst CD following the exact instructions on these two pages:

http://www.howtoforge.com/perfect_setup_debian_sarge
http://www.howtoforge.com/perfect_setup_debian_sarge_p2

Then I installed Zope 2.7.2 and Plone 2.1.2. On my local network, the computer's IP address is 192.168.2.247 (running on eth1) and its public IP address is 210.213.119.247 (running on eth0). I can access it when I point my browser to 210.213.119.247, but I'm thinking it goes in because it uses eth1. The same does not happen when I try our dial-up line which uses another ISP.

I didn't install any firewall, but when I edited my network configuration file (/etc/network/interfaces), it said something about starting the IP spoofing service rp_filter. Can this be blocking the delivery of packets to my machine?

Thanks!

Is your web server behind an external firewall (some kind of packet filtering router)? If so, you will need to create a rule to allow incoming http connection destined for your web server.

None that I know of. From our DSL modem, the connection is passed to a switch where the eth0 is plugged. The card itself works, I've tested it on 3 different machines.

I've also tried signing up at DynDNS, but just to see if we made errors in our DNS servers, but it still can't be found.

Actually, I'm not sure either about rp_filter. I just noticed it and wondered if it could be causing problems. So maybe I just need to disable it or something.
I agree that you should try to disable it and see what happens.

If still not working, please post your web server's routing table.
