I'm designing an application that will keep various data on stocks. For example, I'll keep the 200-day moving average for all business days during the last 5 years. I'll be tracking about 6000 stocks. SQL Server Express 2005 has a 4GB data limitation and that should be sufficient.
Using SQL Server Express 2005,
1) Am I correct in saying that each table has a limitation of 1024 columns?
2) Is there a limit to the number of rows?
3) Is there a limit to the number of tables?
4) If no table limit, or the limit exceeds 6000, are there performance impacts of a large number of tables? (I will access no more than a few in any one query)
