This is DK Daniels a lonely IT Tech over here in Iraq working for a company that supports the troops.
I have a Outlook 2003 question where as I will re image a laptop and then put back the user's .PST file. Upon doing this his mail is there his contacts show up it you click on contacts on the lower left but we are unable to use them when creating an email.
It states the address list could not be displayed. The Contacts folder associated with this address list could not be opened.
This has happened once before and the users contacts were able to be accessed and I just went in and chaged it to show his contacts first so everything was cool.
If I go to Tools & address book I get the same error so it seems to me it had a hook into the defaut email account it created after re imaging it.
In the old Outlook I remember the address book being a seperate file like .adl or something. In 2003 it seems to be embeded into the PST file but how do I get it to use them? What am I doing wrong? I've removed the default PST I've added mine then made mine the defaut still no help then removed the original still no help. I did not use export and like i said the contacts are there put how to point to them?
Is there something I can edit in the registry?
