MS POP3 Event ID 1067

Hi all,

We've a customer using MS Connector for POP3 (please no comments, I know how crap it is).  The custmoer has been experiencing this for some time.  I recently found the http://support.microsoft.com/kb/833992 patch and this has been applied.  Today the customer is experiencing the same issue & the updated DLL is confirmed as being used through the use of SysInternals tools.

Does anyone know of dependent patches for the http://support.microsoft.com/kb/833992 patch?
Alternatively, does anyone know of a fix to the MS Connector for POP3 to fix it which does not involve replacing it with another product (the customer won't pay...)?

Hi Nilesh,

833992 was definitely applied correctly, though you mention reapplying a service pack - does the 822993 have a dependancy in SP1?

For clarification: SP1 is not currently applied to the server in question.
Hi Barthax,

Then that's what you need to do.  SP1 is an essential upgrade to  SBS2003 and should definitely be installed.  There are 5 components to the SBS SP1 install, and you can review complete directions on how to do this here:  http://sbsurl.com/sp1

Hi Berthax,

Add SP1 & let me know the results.

Hi all,

Just to keep you up to date: I re-applied the KB 833992 mid-December (sorry I didn't post!).  The server has been stable since. :)
